Raised in Texarkana with three siblings, David Sterling is the son of a carpenter and a nurse. He graduated from Texarkana Arkansas High School before moving to Little Rock for college in 1987. He earned his undergraduate degree, a Masters degree in Public Administration, and law degree at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Before entering the private practice of law, he spent 14 months as Assistant City Manager in Hope.
David’s wife, the former Deeni Chase, was raised in Benton and graduated from Mount St. Mary Academy in Little Rock. Deeni is a speech pathologist at Franklin Elementary School in the Little Rock School District. David and Deeni have been married for 21 years. They are the parents of 10-year-old Elizabeth Anne. The Sterlings are active members of Fellowship Bible Church where they have attended since 1994.
David practices business, commercial, and contract law at his own law firm in North Little Rock. He is admitted to practice before both state and federal courts. David has been recognized repeatedly by his peers for his high legal ability and expertise. He has received numerous accolades throughout his career for his service to his community and to the profession through the Pulaski County, Arkansas, and American Bar Associations.
David was President of his Teenage Republicans Club at Texarkana Arkansas High School and has been actively involved in Republican campaigns since the 1980’s, including volunteering for former Governor Mike Huckabee and Congressman Tim Griffin. David is a member of the Christian Legal Society, the Federalist Society, the Republican National Lawyers Association, and the NRA.
